May started with unusual summery days in Ireland, I had to enjoy it! Did I go for a swim? No, it wasn't that hot but it was good enough to wear a t-shirt, shorts and to go out with my camera gear and drone. I drove towards Dun Laoghaire and by the time that I got a car park space it was already evening time. I had to walk a bit from the car park to the East Pier and it was a lovely walk. When I arrived to the end of the East Pier the sun started to set so I just had time to take out my camera from my back pack and take a few shots and then flew the drone. I got great pictures, my main problem was to choose the best ones to publish. 

It was a lovely evening and still managed to have time to eat an ice cream from Teddy's ice cream parlour.

That part of Dublin is just so beautiful and that walk by the seaside is worth every single step. When it is sunny and warm it reminds me of home in Portugal and Brazil. 

Visit Dun Laoghaire and you will love it!

Maio começou com dias quentes, incomuns na Irlanda. Tinha que aproveitar! Será que fui nadar? Não, não estava tão quente, mas era o suficiente para usar uma t-shirt e calções e sair com a minha câmera e o drone. Fui para Dun Laoghaire e na hora que eu consegui um estacionamento já era fim de tarde. Eu tive que caminhar um pouco do parque de estacionamento até ao East Pier mas foi uma caminhada bem agradável. Quando cheguei ao final do East Pier, o sol já se estava a pôr, então só tive tempo de tirar minha câmera da mochila, tirar algumas fotos e depois voar o drone. Acho que consegui óptimas fotos pois o meu principal problema foi escolher as melhores para publicar.

Foi um fim de tarde preenchido mas muito agradável e ainda consegui ter tempo para comer um gelado do Teddy's Ice Cream. 

Esta parte de Dublin é muito bonita, quando está sol e calor faz lembrar as minhas origens em Portugal e Brasil e, aquela caminhada junto ao mar, faz valer a pena cada passo.

This is the second photo that I used for the Huawei contest. Many people said that it looks prettier than the one from Shot no.10. It is definetely a great photo (ok, maybe not definetely but in my opinion!).

This picture was taken on a Saturday night in summer. Once again, I was with the same cousins of mine, we went out for dinner in Porto. Imagine, Saturday night, summer time everywhere was packed! Portuguese people know how to enjoy life! After walking around we decided to cross the "D. Luís" bridge to Gaia and look for somewhere in "Cais de Gaia". One of my cousins said about a Brasilian restaurant, "Mineirão" (spot on!), so we walked towards that way always with this landscape in front of us and instead of taking a picture of that,  no, we decided to take selfies! While doing that a very nice Thai tourist asked us if we wanted her to take our photo (she clearly thought we needed some help after watching us!). We said yes and after she did the job, she started taking pictues and I turned around and decided to do the same and I was blessed with this picture! That shining light on the top is from a lamp post. The photo is not perfect, the definition is not the best because it was taken from a smart phone camera however the colors are great!

This is the Douro river, on the right side is Porto and on  the left side is Gaia. That bridge further down the river is Arrábida bridge. There is 6 bridges between Gaia and Porto, one is closed and another one is exclusively for trains and a cablecar connecting both sides. Those little boats are called Rabelo. They were used to transport wine from the Douro valley, where it was  produced, to Porto and Gaia where they were kept in the cellars to be exported. You can still visit the cellars and go on a cruise in the Douro river in a Rabelo boat or in a modern boat.

Now you know why Port wine has such a tasteful flavour, the landscape helps! ;)

Esta é a segunda foto que usei para o concurso da Huawei. Muitas pessoas disseram que parece mais bonita do que a do Shot no.10. É definitivamente uma óptima foto (ok, talvez não seja definitivamente, mas na minha opinião!).

Esta foto foi tirada numa noite de sábado no verão. Mais uma vez, eu estava com os meus primos, saímos para jantar no Porto. Imagine, sábado à noite, Verão, todos os restaurantes estavam lotados! Os portugueses sabem aproveitar a vida! Depois de tanto procurar, decidimos cruzar a ponte "D. Luís" para Gaia e procurar por algum lugar no Cais de Gaia. Um dos meus primos falou sobre um restaurante brasileiro, "Mineirão". Então, caminhámos em direcção ao restaurante sempre com essa paisagem à nossa frente e em vez de tirar uma foto da paisagem e do pôr do Sol, não, decidimos tirar selfies! Enquanto isso, um turista tailandesa muito simpática perguntou-nos se queríamos que ela tirasse-nos uma foto (ela claramente pensou que precisávamos de alguma ajuda depois de nos observar!). Nós dissemos que sim e depois da foto tirada, ela começou a fotografar virada para o local onde estávamos. Eu virei-me e decidi fazer o mesmo e fui abençoado com essa foto! Essa luz brilhante no topo é de uma poste de iluminação. A foto não é perfeita, a definição não é a melhor porque foi tirada com um telemóvel no entanto as cores são lindas!

Este é o rio Douro, no lado direito é o Porto e no lado esquerdo é Gaia. Essa ponte mais abaixo do rio é a ponte da Arrábida. Existem 6 pontes entre Gaia e Porto, uma está fechada e outra é exclusivamente para comboios e ainda existe um teleférico que liga ambos os lados. Aqueles pequenos barcos são chamados Rabelo. Eles erram usados ​​para transportar vinho do vale do Douro, onde é produzido, para o Porto e Gaia, onde são quardados nas adegas para serem exportados. É possível visitar as adegas e fazer um cruzeiro no rio Douro em um barco Rabelo ou em um barco moderno.

Agora você sabe por que o vinho do Porto é tão delicioso, a paisagem ajuda! ;)
