Finally Rome! I used to say that if I wasn't born in Brazil I would like to be born in Italy! I was always fascinated by this country... It's history, culture and of course, il calcio! This trip happened thanks to my beloved sister! She had a conference in Rome and she asked if I would like to meet her there. Of course, I said yes! Even more so because after she would come back to Dublin with me to spend 2 days with me and to attend my graduation ceremony.
I went to Rome for 4 days. We stayed at the Hotel Portamaggiore, a 3 star hotel. Don't expect big things, mainly regarding the breakfast, the selection was very poor but, on the other hand, it has very good deals and it's near the train station, has several buses stops around the area and not too far of a walk from the metro. In front of the hotel, there is an ancient Roman city gate with 2 aqueducts. The hotel was just enough for the time we spent there.
Rome is a city full of interesting places to visit so forget the idea that you will see a bit of everything! During this visit, the places where I spent most of the time were the Vatican and the Coliseum and its surroundings. To visit each place you need at least one full day and then you still have to face the infinite queues to buy tickets and to get into the places. Go very early, that is the trick! Rome is full of tourists and you are one of them, so be patient! I wasn't, my big mistake!
The Vatican might be one of the smallest countries in the world but be mindful that the entry for the Vatican museums is not near St. Peter's square and knowing that fact can help you save precious time! I didn't know that and besides losing time, I also lost 55euro. In Rome, the security is very strict but in the Vatican, they are even more strict! To get into the Vatican museums you have to pass through 2 security points. The first one is a normal airport x-ray machine, the second one is when you are passing through the turnstile. The security man at the turnstile didn't let me pass through with my backpack where I was carrying thousands of euro in photographic gear. My option was to leave the backpack there and collect it at the end of the tour when that entry would be closed, so I would have to collect it at another point of the museum. I really didn't feel comfortable leaving all my equipment behind. That's how I lost 55euro. The normal ticket is around 20euro but I bought with a tourism agent for a Portuguese guided tour. Don't be silly like me, just buy the normal ticket and get the audio tour and you will be more than fine! That is what I did 3 days later with my sister and we really enjoyed it!
The Coliseum is big. I didn't try a guided tour after my experience at the Vatican. So I can't really tell how long it would take. I remember looking at my watch and realizing that we were there for over 4h. The Coliseum is a beautiful monument but what I enjoyed the most was the Roman Forum, just beside the Coliseum. The Roman Forum is an area where there are ruins of ancient government buildings and beautiful gardens, you can still get into some of them! I spent 5h at the Roman Forum and didn't manage to see it all but I'm one of those who is constantly reading every description! And to make me waste more time, I was trying to read all the information written in Italian to figure how much could I understand!
Other places I visited but didn't spend much time at were the Piazza di Spagna and the Fontana di Trevi.
As you can see in 4 days there is so much that you can see if you are interested in knowing about history. It was great to make me want to go back to Rome, I still have a lot to explore there!

Finalmente Roma! Eu costumava dizer que, se eu não nascesse no Brasil, gostaria de nascer na Itália! Eu sempre fui fascinado por este país ... A história, cultura e, claro, il calcio! Esta viagem aconteceu graças à minha amada irmã! Ela teve uma conferência em Roma e perguntou se eu gostaria de me encontrar lá com ela e passarmos alguns dias juntos. Claro que sim! Ainda mais porque depois, ela voltava comigo para Dublin para passar dois dias comigo e assistir à minha cerimónia de formatura.
Eu fui a Roma por 4 dias. Ficamos no Hotel Portamaggiore, um hotel de 3 estrelas. Não espere grandes coisas, principalmente em relação ao pequeno almoço, a seleção é muito pobre mas, por outro lado, tem ótimas ofertas e fica perto da estação de comboios, tem várias paragens de autocarro e não fica muito longe do metro. Em frente ao hotel há um antigo portão da cidade romana com 2 aquedutos. O hotel foi apenas o suficiente para o tempo que passámos lá.
Roma é uma cidade cheia de lugares interessantes para visitar, então esqueça a idéia de que você tentará ver um pouco de tudo! Durante esta visita, os lugares onde passei a maior parte do tempo foram o Vaticano, o Coliseu e seus arredores. Para visitar cada lugar, você precisa de pelo menos um dia inteiro e ainda precisa enfrentar as filas infinitas para comprar ingressos e entrar nos locais. Vá muito cedo, esse é o truque! Roma está cheia de turistas e você é um deles, então seja paciente! Eu não fui paciente, meu grande erro!
O Vaticano pode ser um dos menores países do mundo, mas fique sabendo de que a entrada para os museus do Vaticano não fica perto da praça de São Pedro e saber desse fato pode fazer você economizar um tempo precioso! Eu não sabia e além de perder tempo, também perdi 55 euros. Em Roma, eles são muito rigorosos com relação à segurança, mas no Vaticano são ainda mais rigorosos! Para entrar nos museus do Vaticano, você precisa passar por 2 pontos de segurança. O primeiro é uma máquina de raio-x normal de aeroporto, o segundo é quando você está passando pelo torniquete. O segurança do torniquete não me deixou passar com minha mochila, onde eu carregava milhares de euros em equipamento fotográfico. Minha opção era deixar lá a mochila e recolhê-la no final do passeio, num outro ponto do museu pois a entrada já estaria encerrada. Eu realmente não me senti confortável deixando todo o meu equipamento para trás, então logo no início da visita voltei para trás e saí. Foi assim que perdi 55 €. O bilhete normal é de cerca de 20 euros, mas eu comprei com um agente de turismo para uma visita guiada em português. Não seja bobo como eu, basta comprar o ingresso normal e obter o guia áudio e você ficará bem! Foi isso que fiz 3 dias depois com minha irmã e nós gostamos muito!
O Coliseu é grande. Não tentei uma visita guiada depois da minha experiência no Vaticano por isso, não sei dizer quanto tempo isso levaria. Lembro-me de olhar para o meu relógio e perceber que estávamos lá já há mais de 4h. O Coliseu é um belo monumento, mas o que mais gostei foi o Fórum Romano, ao lado do Coliseu. O Fórum Romano é uma área onde existem ruínas de antigos prédios do governo romano em que alguns dos quais você ainda pode entrar, e belos jardins! Passei 5h no Fórum Romano e não consegui ver tudo, mas sou um daqueles que está constantemente lendo todas as descrições e tirando fotos! E para me fazer perder mais tempo, eu estava tentando ler todas as informações escritas em italiano para descobrir o quanto eu conseguia entender!
Outros lugares que visitei, mas não passei muito tempo, foi a Piazza di Spagna e a Fontana di Trevi.
Como você pode ver em 4 dias, não há muito o que você pode ver se está interessado em conhecer a história. No entanto, desfrutei muito desta viagem pois me fez querer voltar para Roma, ainda tenho muito a explorar por lá!

I won't be talking much about this photo and about this trip because I have a huge amount of photos from the Cliffs. I'll, eventually, do a post about the Cliffs where I spent literally over 5h shooting. Unfortunately, I have no aerial shots because drones are not allowed and even if they were, it was extremely windy so (so windy that the water that would normally fall down the cliffs, was coming up!!!) I wouldn't be able to fly it.

This photo was only a macro experience and because you can't identify the location I decided to post it as a Solo Shot. Do you like it?

On my second visit to Ireland's Eye, I went on a mission to collect footage of an old church that there is on the island. The walk to that church is made between high bushes surrounded by those beautiful purple flowers and of course, nearly every flower had a bee and eventually, they got used to my presence and allowed me to get closer and take some of my first macro photos! This is the best one!

Oh, Tara!!! I don't even know where to start! The Hill of Tara, a mythological place in Ireland that was once the heart of the Irish culture and, nowadays, an authentic curse to me! Let's start chronologically and then we will jump back to the 21st century!

Tara, Teamhair na Rí in Gaeilge which means "the sanctuary of the King", was, in fact, the ancient seat of power in Ireland, the seat of the High Kings of Ireland. The most important monument at the site is the Lia Fáil (Gaeilge for "The Stone of Destiny"), Ireland's most ancient coronation stone. It was said to cry or roar when touched by the rightful King of Tara. However, even before that, Tara was known during the Stone Age as a passage-tomb and the Dumha na nGiall (Gaeilge for "the mound of the hostages") tomb is the oldest monument still visible at the Hill of Tara. It was held sacred by Neolithic people and they believed it to be a dwelling place of the gods and the entrance to another world. But Tara became truly significant during the Iron Age and in the Early Christian Period. In 433 AD, St. Patrick, in defiance of the pagan High King of Tara, lit the Paschal fire on the nearby Hill of Slane.

From the top of the hill, on a clear day (which can be tricky in Ireland) you can see all the surrounding counties, so I can understand how important Tara would be from a strategic point of view for the High King of Ireland to protect his kingdom.
These were the historical facts behind the Hill of Tara, now the facts behind the curse of the Hill of Tara!

For a few years already I've been trying to shoot at Hill of Tara. I thhink the first time was early 2018 and after that, I went there numerous times, at different times of the day, alone, with other people and with every weather condition (no snow though). So, so many visits and only now doing a post about, over a year! Why? There is a tale that says that if a guy called Vitor, who is a nurse and has a hobby taking photos and makes videos, tries to make a post on his blog about the Hill of Tara, he will fail miserably! And that is so true! This doesn't follow a chronological line but here you have a few reasons that stopped me of collecting material for a post:

• attacked by a herd of sheep;
• dust inside the lens so all the photos came out with black dots;
• a beautiful sunny day that turned to an awful rainy day as soon as I stood in Tara (it happened 73,8% of the time);
• forgotten memory card;
• a low battery in the camera and the spare battery was completely empty;
• the drone wouldn't take off and when did it, it started to rain;
• extremely cold and windy up there (it happened 99% of the time);
• a huge group of tourists.

The 2 first points happened only once all the others happened at least twice! So from all of those visits, I managed to get the photos above, which is very poor material after so many times there! But honestly, I was so fed up with constantly failing that I just decided that it was time to share the curse of Tara with the world! Now, just to finish and to confirm that there is a real curse, I tried to look for photos from failed visits to post here and I can't find them, I probably deleted them all!

Well, I hope the curse of Tara won't stop you from visiting this mystical place, it only has an effect on me! Now, there is a big chance that it will be freezing cold if you go there but don't you worry, then you can go to the Maguires Cafe and enjoy a lovely latte or cup of tea to warm you up!

[PT] Tara !!! Eu nem sei por onde começar! A colina de Tara, é um lugar mitológico na Irlanda que já foi o coração da cultura irlandesa e, hoje em dia, é uma maldição autêntica para mim! Vamos começar cronologicamente e depois voltaremos para o século 21!

Tara, Teamhair na Rí em Gaeilge, que significa "o santuário do rei", era, de fadto, a antiga sede do poder na Irlanda, a sede dos Altos Reis da Irlanda. O monumento mais importante no local é o Lia Fáil (Gaeilge de "A Pedra do Destino"), a mais antiga pedra de coroação da Irlanda. Dizia-se que a pedra chorava ou rugia quando tocada pelo legítimo Rei de Tara. Estes foram os fatos históricos por trás da Colina de Tara, agora os fatos por trás da maldição da Colina de Tara!

Há alguns anos eu venho tentando filmar na colina de Tara. Acho que a primeira vez foi no início de 2018 e depois disso, eu fui lá inúmeras vezes, em diferentes momentos do dia, sozinho, com outras pessoas e com todas as condições meteorológicas (não neve tho). Então, muitas visitas e só agora fazendo um post há mais de um ano! Por quê? Há um conto que diz que se um cara chamado Vitor, que é enfermeiro e como hobby tira fotos e faz vídeos, tenta fazer um post em seu blog sobre o Morro da Tara, ele vai fracassar miseravelmente! E isso é tão verdade! Isso não segue uma linha cronológica, mas aqui você tem algumas razões que me impediram de coletar material para um post:

• atacado por um rebanho de ovelhas;
• poeira dentro da lente para que todas as fotos saíssem com pontos pretos;
• um belo dia de sol que se transformou em um terrível dia chuvoso assim que fiquei em Tara (aconteceu 73,8% do tempo);
• esqueci o cartão de memória;
• uma bateria fraca na câmera e a bateria sobressalente estava completamente vazia;
• o drone não decolaria e quando isso aconteceu, começou a chover;
• extremamente frio e ventoso lá em cima (aconteceu 99% do tempo);
• um enorme grupo de turistas.

Os dois primeiros pontos aconteceram apenas uma vez mas, todos os outros aconteceram pelo menos duas vezes! De todas essas visitas, eu consegui tirar as fotos acima, o que é um material muito reduzido depois de tantas vezes lá! Mas, honestamente, eu estava tão farto de falhar tantas vezes que acabei por decidir que era hora de compartilhar a maldição de Tara com o mundo! Agora, só para finalizar e para confirmar que existe uma verdadeira maldição, tentei procurar por fotos de visitas fracassadas para postar aqui e não consigo encontrá-las, provavelmente eu deletei todas elas!

Bem, eu espero que a maldição de Tara não o impeça de visitar este lugar místico, a maldição só tem efeito sobre mim! Agora, há uma grande chance de que estará frio quando você for lá, mas não se preocupe, você pode ir ao  Maguires Cafe e desfrutar de um  café com leite ou chá para aquecê-lo!

Yes! This is Ireland on another summer day! So good! The good thing about living on an island is that you are surrounded by sea... I just wish that the water was a bit warmer! Normally I go to the beaches on the south side of Dublin but since I've been shooting in Ireland's Eye, after I leave the island (normally the last boat is at 17h) I still want to go for a dip in the sea so the nearest beach with sand and parking places is Burrow beach. The last days of July have been amazing and I have been shooting a lot! On this day I decided to try my new camera Canon Powershot G9x mark II which was a gift from Capitola watches! It's just a point and shoot but the image quality surprised me! I might do a review of the camera when I have more photos, the first one came out quite nicely! Do you like it? Would you say it was taken with a point and shoot camera?

[EN]Hi guys! After being so long without editing a video, this one didn't make any easier for me! I had to edit the video from scratch 4 times!!! How frustrating! The first 2 times, I tried to edit on my laptop while I was in Portugal using the DaVinci Resolve editor. It didn't work because my laptop couldn't cope with so many heavy files so it was taking forever but I still tried a second time thinking that after a night of sleep the laptop would fill fit to edit silly me!

After returning to Ireland tried to edit on mine iMac still using the DaVinci Resolve... great piece of work unfortunately when it was finished, ready to save the DaVinci decided to crash and to delete all my work... I nearly cried!

At this stage, I had decided that I would just forget that footage and all my bad luck. However, I had to try one more time, now using the iMovie. I knew when I started that the final result wouldn't be the same as if I had done it on the DaVinci. So I started, I was quite happy with the job but when I uploaded it to YouTube I realized that iMovie created the project on 720p... I nearly broke the place!!! Grrrrrrrrr

Anyway, I uploaded like that. I think you can have an idea of the place.

Bective Abbey was founded in 1147 for the Cistercian Order by Murchad O'Maeil-Sheachlainn, King of Meath. It was Ireland's second Cistercian Abbey; a ‘daughter house' to nearby Mellifont. Bective became an important monastic settlement but was suppressed following the dissolution of the Monasteries under King Henry VIII in1543. The lands were then rented, and the monastery began to be used as a fortified house. The tower was constructed at this time, granting the structure an imposing appearance. The remains now visible at the Abbey date mainly from the 13th to 15th centuries. They include the church, chapter house, and cloister. The cloister ruins are particularly well-preserved and feature pointed, gothic arches typical of Cistercian architecture.

Now, the most important, did you know that the abbey was used as the film setting for Mel Gibson's "Braveheart"? Comment below if you recognize any of the film settings.

[PT] Oi pessoal! Depois de tanto tempo sem editar um vídeo, este não facilitou nada para mim! Eu tive que editar o vídeo do zero 4 vezes !!! Quão frustrante! Nas primeiras duas vezes, tentei editar no meu portátil enquanto estava em Portugal usando o editor DaVinci Resolve. Não funcionou porque o meu portátil não suportava tantos ficheiros pesados, pelo que demorava uma eternidade a concluir uma acção, mas ainda tentei uma segunda vez a pensar que, depois de uma noite de sono, o portátil recuperaria a energia e cumprisse com a performance, que enganado eu estava!
Depois de voltar para a Irlanda tentei editar no meu iMac ainda usando o DaVinci Resolve ... ficou um excelente trabalho mas, infelizmente quando ficou pronto, antes que eu pudesse salvar, o DaVinci crashou e eu perdi todo o meu trabalho ... quase chorei!
Nesta fase, eu tinha decidido que iria esquecer aquela filmagem e toda a minha má sorte. No entanto, eu tive que tentar mais uma vez, agora usando o iMovie. Eu sabia, quando eu comecei, que o resultado final não seria o mesmo que se eu tivesse editado com o DaVinci. Lá comecei e de facto, eu estava muito feliz com o trabalho, mas quando eu fiz o upload para o YouTube, percebi que o iMovie criou o projeto em 720p ... Eu quase quebrei o tudo!!! Grrrrrrrrr!!!
De qualquer forma, eu fiz o upload desse jeito mesmo. Eu acho que você pode ter uma ideia do lugar.
Bective Abbey foi fundada em 1147 para a Ordem Cisterciense por Murchad O'Maeil-Sheachlainn, Rei de Meath. Era a segunda abadia cisterciense da Irlanda; uma "casa filha" para a vizinha Mellifont. Bective tornou-se um importante assentamento monástico, mas foi suprimido após a dissolução dos mosteiros sob o rei Henrique VIII em 1543. As terras foram então alugadas e o mosteiro começou a ser usado como casa fortificada. A torre foi construída nessa altura, conferindo à estrutura uma aparência imponente. Os restos agora visíveis da abadia, datam principalmente a partir dos séculos 13 a 15. Eles incluem a igreja, a casa do capítulo e o claustro. As ruínas do claustro são particularmente bem preservadas e apresentam arcos góticos pontiagudos, típicos da arquitetura cisterciense.
Agora, o mais importante, você sabia que a abadia foi usada como cenário de filme para "Braveheart" de Mel Gibson? Comente abaixo se você reconhecer alguma das configurações do filme.

Welcome to Lough Owel! My first contact with this lake was in February 2018 when I was going to a conference in Sligo and from the N4 road I could see this magnificent and immense lake! That lake remained in the back of my mind! 

The last days of May gave me the perfect excuse to visit Lough Owel. The temperature was over 20ºC so I went there to jump in the lake and to take some photos and fly the drone of course! Actually, one day wasn't enough, I had to go 2 days in a row and I really enjoyed both of them!I even managed to get some tan, I never imagined that that would be possible in Ireland!

Lough Owel is located in County Westmeath, near Mullingar, is 6km in length, 3km wide and has a maximum depth of 22m. Now, an interesting fact (only for me :P ): on the 7th of June 1996 the lake had received international protection as a Ramsar Wetland site. My birthday day, which is a great day to do those kind of important things! :P

Lough Owel is totally worth a visit but only at this time of the year otherwise it's too cold and windy. Also, County Westmeath has several lakes to visit so if you don't like Lough Owel you might like one of the other lakes nearby!

Bem-vindo ao Lough Owel! O meu primeiro contacto com este lago foi em Fevereiro de 2018, quando eu estava a caminho de uma conferência em Sligo e, da estrada N4, eu podia ver este magnífico e imenso lago! Esse lago ficou na minha memória!

Os últimos dias de Maio me deram a desculpa perfeita para visitar o lago Owel. A temperatura estava acima de 20ºC, então eu juntei o prazer e a diversão e fui lá nadar no lago, tirar algumas fotos e, claro, voei o drone! Na verdade um dia não foi o suficiente, eu tive que ir 2 dias seguidos e de facto foi bastante agradável! Até consegui bronzear, nunca imaginei que isso seria possível na Irlanda!

O Lago Owel está localizado no Condado de Westmeath, perto de Mullingar, tem 6km de comprimento, 3km de largura e uma profundidade máxima de 22m. Agora, facto interessante (só para mim :P): em 7 de junho de 1996, o lago recebeu proteção internacional como um local "Ramsar Wetland". Meu dia de aniversário é um grande dia para fazer esse tipo de coisa importante! :P

O Lago Owel merece uma visita, principalmente nesta época do ano, caso contrário, é muito frio e ventoso. Também o Condado de Westmeath tem vários lagos para visitar por isso, se você não gostar do Lago Owel, pode ser que goste de um dos outros lagos por perto!

I know, I know... Some people already asked if I had retired from photography. No way! My passion is just growing day by day! What happened is that I live in Ireland so the weather is not the best (constant complaint in this blog!), so I haven't really been out to take shots. But, April brought the good weather and I went to my favourite spot, the Phoenix Park. 

The pictures in this post were taken on two consecutive days. After work related training, I went to the Phoenix Park in the afternoon and walked around the park, so these pictures were taken in diferent locations.

The first and the last one's are from the Pope's Cross. In 1979 Pope John Paul II celebrated a mass there for around 1 million people.

The second one is from Wellington Monument, dedicated to Arthur Wellesley who was born in Ireland and was the 1st Duke of Wellington. The monument commemorates his victories, and some of his battles were in Portugal so that's why on one of the faces of the obelisk, there is names of Portuguese cities and villages. The obelisk is the tallest in Europe which is 62m in height.

The three ones in the middle are from the bandstand area near the Phoenix Park Tea Rooms, just in front of Dublin Zoo. It's a lovely place to rest and relax after a walk, very calm and beautiful. You can grab a coffee or tea in the tea rooms and then just enjoy a little bit of peace in the middle of Dublin. Interesting fact: in the tea rooms you can get one of the most delicious Portuguese symbols, a "Pastel de Nata" aka "Portuguese Custard Tart". That place is just across the road from the Wellington monument and very close to the main gate to the city. It is really worth a visit!

I was very lucky because on both days the weather was just perfect so I was blessed with these pictures! Unusual for Ireland!

Eu sei, eu sei ... Algumas pessoas já me perguntaram se eu havia me aposentado da fotografia. De jeito nenhum! A minha paixão está crescendo de dia para dia! O problema é que eu moro na Irlanda, então o tempo não é o melhor (queixa constante neste blog!), daí que eu realmente não tenha saído para tirar fotos. Mas Abril trouxe o bom tempo e eu fui ao meu lugar favorito, o Phoenix Park.
As fotos deste post foram tiradas em dois dias consecutivos. No fim de 2 dias de formações relacionados com trabalho, fui ao Phoenix Park à tarde e andei pelo parque fotografando diferentes locais.
O primeiro e o último são da Cruz do Papa. Em 1979, João Paulo II celebrou uma missa nesse lugar para cerca de 1 milhão de pessoas.
O segundo é o monumento de Wellington, dedicado a Arthur Wellesley, que nasceu na Irlanda e foi o primeiro duque de Wellington. O monumento comemora as suas vitórias e algumas das suas batalhas foram travadas em Portugal e é por isso que em uma das faces do obelisco tem nomes de cidades e vilas portuguesas. O obelisco é o mais alto da Europa, com 62m de altura.
As três fotos do meio são da zona do coreto perto do Phoenix Park Tea Rooms, em frente ao Jardim Zoológico de Dublin. É um lindo lugar para descansar e relaxar depois de um passeio, muito calmo e bonito. Você pode pegar um café ou chá no "Tea Rooms" e, em seguida, desfrutar de um pouco de paz no meio de Dublin. Facto interessante: no "Tea Rooms", você pode obter um dos mais deliciosos símbolos portugueses, o "Pastel de Nata", também conhecido como "Portuguese Custard Tart". Este local fica do outro lado da estrada do monumento de Wellington e muito perto do portão principal para a cidade. Vale a pena uma visita!
Eu tive muita sorte porque nos dois dias o tempo estava perfeito, então fui abençoado com essas fotos, algo incomum para a Irlanda!

I know, it has been more than a month since the last post. I started a new job (unfortunately not a travelling photographer), did a photography course with Canon, bought new photography equipment... a few things happened! The new equipment was the reason to go to the Phoenix Park again. This time I went to try my new DJI Mavic Air. In this post there are no photos taken from the drone because I'm still learning, but they will come! 

I saw the wild deer in the Phoenix Park and flew the drone above them. I wish I knew how to take proper photos with the drone at that time but once I was there, I decided to take some pictures from ground level!
The Phoenix Park was originally formed as a royal hunting park in the 17th century. The deer were shipped over from Wales by the Duke of Ormonde in 1662 and the established herd of 400-450 fallow deer descend from the original herd introduced at that time.
Now the next time you go to the Phoenix Park you need to visit it's more ancient residents!

Eu sei, já passou mais de um mês desde a última publicação. Entretanto comecei um novo emprego (infelizmente, não fotógrafo de viagens), fiz um curso de fotografia com o Canon, comprei novo equipamento fotográfico... muita coisa aconteceu! O novo equipamento foi a razão para ir ao Phoenix Park novamente. Desta vez eu fui experimentar o meu novo DJI Mavic Air. Nesta publicação não há fotos tiradas pelo drone porque ainda estou a aprender, mas elas aparecerão!
No Phoenix Park, vi o cervo selvagem e voei o drone para cima deles. Naquele momento, dei por mim a desejar saber como tirar fotos apropriadas com drone mas, uma vez que eu estava lá, eu decidi tirar algumas fotos do nível do solo!
O Phoenix Park foi originalmente formado como um parque de caça real no século XVII. O cervo do Phoenix Park foi trazido do País de Gales pelo duque de Ormonde em 1662 e o grupo estabelecido de 400-450 cervos descende do grupo original de animais introduzido naquela época.
Agora, da próxima vez que você for ao Phoenix Park, tem visitar os seus residentes mais antigos!

Photos taken at Blessington Lakes, Blessington, Co. Wicklow in December 2017. 
If you visited this blog before you probably noticed that I constantly blame the weather if the photos are not great. One of those days I decided to see if I could use the bad weather and poor light to take good photos. 
So this day started with a regular visit to the gym with my friends. When I was bringing them home I could see the fog hiding at the top of Dublin mountains so, immediately, I wanted to go there for a blog mission however, it was already afternoon so there was not much more hours of daylight. Decided to drive to Blessington and hope that area of the lake and mountains was envolved in mist. I was dead right!!! 
I don't know the area very well and time for exploring it was non existent. I knew this lake resort called Avon Rí because a few years ago I had my first Christmas party in Ireland in there. 
Parked there and went to the back of the resort where there is a passage to the lakeshore but of course it was closed by a gate... No hassle, jumped the gate and enjoyed 1h of frozen conditions for photography! To make it more extreme, decided to build that beautiful construction with stones in the cold water to use as foreground. After that hour couldn't cope anymore with my running nose and numb hands and went to the resort's restaurant to have some food and to get warm! If you go there you must try their pizza, it is delicious! 
It was time to go back home but tried an alternative route and just by luck found this monument called Threecastles Tower. It was pouring raining but still managed to take a few pictures! That was my adventure through Blessington lands! I hope my "bad weather photography experience" is approved by you! ;)

Se já visitou este blog antes então, talvez tenha percebido que eu culpo constantemente o clima se as fotos não são perfeitas. Um dia decidi ver se eu saberia como usar às más condições atmosféricas e a pouca luz para tirar boas fotos. 

Então, esse dia começou com uma visita regular ao ginásio com meus amigos. Quando eu estava a levá-los a casa, dava para ver o nevoeiro escondendo o topo das montanhas de Dublin, então, imediatamente, eu quis ir numa "blog mission" no entanto, já era tarde, por isso já não havia muitas horas de luz pela frente. Decidi ir até Blessington na esperança de que a área do lago e as montanhas estivessem envolvidas em névoa. E estava certo!!!

Não conhecia a área muito bem e o tempo para explorar era muito pouco. Conhecia um resort no lago chamado Avon Rí porque, há alguns anos atrás, eu tive a minha primeira festa de Natal na Irlanda lá.

Estacionei e fui até à parte de trás do resort onde tem uma passagem para o lago mas, é claro que o portão estava fechado... Sem problemas, pulei o portão e desfrutei de 1h de condições gélidas para a fotografia! Para tornar a experiência mais extrema, decidi construir essa bela estrutura com pedras na água fria para usar como primeiro plano.

A determinado momento, não consegui mais lidar com o nariz pingando e as mãos entorpecidas e fui ao restaurante do resort para comer e me aquecer! Se você for lá, tem que provar uma pizza, é deliciosa!

Depois de comer, chegou a hora de voltar para casa mas, tentei uma rota alternativa e, apenas por sorte, encontrei este monumento chamado "Threecastles Tower". Estava chovendo, mas ainda conseguiu tirar algumas fotos!

Essa foi a minha aventura por terras de Blessington! Espero que a minha "experiência na fotografia do tempo ruim" seja aprovada por você! ;)
